Every pick starts with a quantitative edge. Our CLV (closing line value) model screens thousands of lines daily, flagging plays where the market is mispriced by 3% or more. Analysts then apply qualitative filters — injury reports, weather, travel, and sharp money signals.

If the model and the analyst agree, the pick gets published. If they disagree, it doesn't. This discipline is why our published record beats the closing line at a rate that compounds over a full season.

WORK

How do you select picks?
Every pick starts with a model-generated edge — we only publish plays where our closing line value (CLV) model shows a projected edge of 3% or greater. Analysts then layer in qualitative factors: injury reports, weather, travel schedules, and line movement signals.
What does "LOCK" mean?
LOCK designates plays where our model shows the highest confidence — typically 5%+ projected CLV with strong corroborating signals. These are not guaranteed winners. No pick is. LOCK means our analysts have the highest conviction, not certainty.
How is your record tracked?
All picks are logged at the time of publication with the line available at that moment. We track against the closing line, not the opening line. Records are updated within 24 hours of game completion and are never retroactively adjusted.
What odds do you use?
We publish picks at standard -110 juice unless the pick is a moneyline or specific prop. We recommend shopping lines across at least three books — DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM — to find the best available number.
How often are picks published?
Best Bets are published daily by 10am ET for that day's slate. NFL picks drop Thursday evening for the weekend card. MLB and NBA picks are published the morning of game day.
Do you offer a subscription or paid service?
All picks on BestLiveBet are free. We do not sell picks, tout packages, or subscription services. Our revenue comes from advertising. If you see anyone claiming to sell "BestLiveBet picks," it is not affiliated with us.
